About the Role

Mash is looking to hire its first Marketing Lead to play a critical role in building out and executing on our marketing strategy. You will help define and execute on a variety of inbound and outbound marketing activities.

The Problem

We’re lazy. We hate doing the same thing over and over again. We hate doing work that can and should be automated. We’ve suffered through it. We don’t even want to search for an answer – we want to be proactively told the solution. And if anyone answered something once, no human should have to write an answer or document again.

The fastest-growing technology and multi-product companies have a critical group of people that are dealing with this problem – the sales engineers, solution architects, customer success engineers and everyone they serve on revenue teams.

They’re inundated by questions from colleagues & customers. They are stuck repeating answers, hunting down tribal knowledge. They spend hours writing “handoff” docs and completing prep for meetings. They’re still waiting for an answer that they asked a colleague yesterday. And they have 10 inbound questions from prospects & account executives.

This wasted time is expensive, slows revenue growth, and makes providing great experiences to customers and prospects unnecessarily challenging.

This is what we’re solving. At Mash, we’re building the tools to help revenue teams at technical B2B companies scale the tier-one service they provide to customers and prospects. From an encyclopedic knowledge engine that pulls in information from all the scattered, siloed and messy sources, to the automation agents that proactively help before they know they need it.

About Mash.

Mash equips B2B revenue teams with an always-on, AI-powered assistant that's embedded in Slack, available on demand, and automatically helping when it's confident. It has the knowledge of solutions architects, product experts, support reps, and deal strategists.

Mash ensures revenue teams get the right answers and content — from troubleshooting internally, enabling a rep mid-deal, and responding to a prospect or customer in real time.

For most of our customers, this translates into:

  • Greater efficiency & faster deal cycles due to time saved, and fewer interruptions.
  • Increased conversion rates from sharper, more relevant & consistent responses.

Team.

We’re a dynamic team with experience at startups, and big tech including Google, Amazon, PagerDuty, D2L, Ross Intelligence & Lazer. We don't use any seniority titles, and plan not to for as long as feasibly possible (learn more why).

Experience & expectations.

  • Great communication skills, a passion for lifelong learning and infectious curiosity.
  • Responds well to open-ended problems, thrives on autonomy, and is a self-starter.
  • Excels in team environments and is focused on team goals.
  • Has demonstrated capabilities to drive full-stack marketing capabilities at a fast-moving startup, preferably with experience at a B2B company serving mid-market enterprises.
  • Has 3+ years of demonstrated success in a demanding, high-paced environment at a startup or high-growth technology company.

Role & responsibilities.

You will be working directly with Mash’s founder to help accelerate the business, along with other hires for the revenue team. You’ll be responsible for building out the marketing fuel and engine.

  • Startup: Strategically allocate your time and budget on high impact efforts (including prioritizing amongst this list).
  • Knowledge: Become an expert in AI, knowledge agents, the industries we serve, and how they operate. Use AI tools in your day-to-day role to augment and scale your capabilities.
  • Brand & Product Marketing: Help define our brand promises. Craft clear value props, competitive angles, and collateral that resonate with our target personas. Understand the needs of revenue teams and our capabilities to over-deliver on our promises to them.
  • Develop and execute B2B marketing plans that may include email campaigns, participation in industry conferences and events, webinars, PPC campaigns and website updates. Work alongside product team to develop messaging for new products and launch them.
  • Inbound & Outbound Efforts: Help define them, and execute against them. From conferences to attend, webinars to organize or co-marketing efforts to pursue.
